Sixth Form Results 2024

A Level and BTEC students at Bishop Douglass Sixth Form celebrate places at top UK universities

Bishop Douglass is celebrating another year of excellent exam results and is proud to announce the outstanding achievements of its students in this year's A-Level examinations. Results have improved on last year, especially at the top end with half of students achieving A*-B grades and 22% achieving A*-A grades. This is despite this year’s top grades being down nationally. Top achieving subjects were Maths, Chemistry, Art and Spanish. BTEC results remained strong well across a wide range of subjects.

Students have demonstrated remarkable resilience and determination, achieving results that reflect their hard work and commitment, especially in a challenging year when the start was disrupted due to RACC reparations.

Key Highlights

  • High Achievement Across Subjects: This year’s A-Level results have once again affirmed Bishop Douglass reputation for academic excellence, with students achieving impressive grades across a wide range of subjects.
  • University Placements: Many of our students have secured places at their dream universities, including prestigious institutions such as Imperial University and the University of Manchester. These achievements are a testament to their perseverance and dedication.
  • Overcoming Adversity: Several students have overcome significant personal and academic challenges to achieve their goals. Their stories of resilience serve as an inspiration to the entire school community.

Michelle Henderson, Head of Bishop Douglass, expressed immense pride in the students' accomplishments, stating: “This year’s results are a testament not only to our students' academic abilities but also to their strength of character. We are incredibly proud of all our students, especially those who have overcome significant challenges to achieve their goals. We wish them all the best as they embark on the next chapter of their journeys.”
